Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

Bluenog Awarded 'Red Herring 100 North America'
Enterprise Software and Solutions Provider Recognized as Top Technology Company of 2009

Bluenog has announced that it has been selected as a winner of the Red Herring 100 North America Award. The Red Herring editorial team deployed a detailed process to whittle down a pool of 1,000 eligible, promising companies to 200 finalists. Ultimately, 100 winners were chosen and recognized as the top technology companies of 2009. Evaluations are made on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, innovation, management, global strategy, and ecosystem integration. The winners, elite executives and venture capital leaders from North America, celebrated in San Diego from May 11-14, 2009.

"Of the thousands of companies that have submitted their entries, we were tasked with choosing the technologies that are making the biggest impact this year," said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. "Bluenog is one of those exceptional companies that can make open source tick in the enterprise with its advanced collaborative solution."

For over 10 years, the Red Herring 100 North America award, open to private technology companies headquartered in North America, has been awarded to top technology firms demonstrating innovation and leadership. During the several months leading up to the announcement, the Red Herring editorial team reviewed each nomination assessing both quantitative and qualitative criteria. The entrants comprised thousands of companies in the telecom, communications, security, Web 2.0, software, hardware, biotech and clean tech industries.

"Bluenog is disrupting today's enterprise technology space with Bluenog ICE, an integrated suite of CMS, Portal and BI software that offers the benefits of open source, such as access to source code, backed by indemnification and the comprehensive support typical of commercial solutions," said Suresh Kuppusamy, chief executive officer, Bluenog. "It is no small feat to be selected among the best and brightest companies competing to be winners of the Red Herring 100 Award. This is a testimony to Bluenog's dedication and innovation in the space."
