Wireless News Desk ShapeWriter Publishes Software on Multiple Mobile and PC Platforms
Text entry product updates
Jan. 5, 2009 02:00 AM
ShapeWriter simultaneously announced the launch of its text entry products on Windows Mobile, Android, and Windows XP/Vista with its upgrades to WritingPad 1.0 for the iPhone, now called ShapeWriter 2.0. Rather than "hunting and pecking," ShapeWriter 2.0 allows users to produce an entire word on a touch keyboard with a few gestures. For example: a stroke that roughly connects the w, o, r and d keys is recognized by ShapeWriter's algorithms as the word "word." All ShapeWriter products run in real time on mobile devices and feature editing, automatic formatting and capitalization, error tolerance, misspelling correction, and gesture commands. ShapeWriter 1.0 on Android has been specifically customized for T-Mobile's G1, and supports note taking, email, SMS and a practice game. ShapeWriter 1.0 on Windows Mobile is a system-wide input method supporting all standard software applications on Windows Mobile and Pocket PC 2003. It works on phones from manufacturers such as HTC, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson. ShapeWriter 1.0 on Windows XP/Vista is suited for Tablet PCs, HP Touch Smart computers, UMPCs, and any PC connected with a Wacom tablet. Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
