This is Jaspersoft's fifth trip to the well

The open source business intelligence (BI) ISV has gotten $12.5 million in financing in a round led by private equity house Adams Street Partners with Red Hat and Jaspersoft's five existing investors participating. This is Jaspersoft's fifth trip to the well. It's already collected $35.3 million in four previous rounds. This makes $47.8 million. Red Hat said its investment is "part of a larger strategy to help support a thriving open source ecosystem and demonstrate its leadership in the marketplace by serving as a nexus for open source technologies." Jaspersoft is a Red Hat Exchange RHX partner. Jaspersoft has earmarked the money for scaling its business operations worldwide. It wants to advance its products, expand globally and reinforce its partner relationships. David Welsh, a partner at Adams Street, will join its board. Despite the economy Jaspersoft claims it's been experiencing "unprecedented growth." According to Gartner, business intelligence software is a "must-have" that Jaspersoft expects it to become more critical in the current economic environment. It didn't say anything about "must-haves" that people are willing to pay for. Jaspersoft claims to have the largest BI community in the world, with more than seven million product downloads and 89,000 registered developers working on 320 Jasper-related projects. Jaspersoft is otherwise backed by Morgenthaler Ventures, DCM, Partech International, Scale Venture Partners and SAP Ventures. Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
