Sybase Strategic UK Partnership to Provide Application Development Tool
Sybase and QBS Distribution partner to distribute Sybase PowerDesigner

Sybase has announced its partnership with QBS Distribution (QBSD) to distribute Sybase PowerDesigner. The strategic partnership seeks to further strengthen Sybase PowerDesigner's global leadership within the UK market.

Sybase PowerDesigner combines business process modeling with unified modeling language (UML) and data modeling to make possible open, cross-platform information architectures that deliver information anytime, anywhere. Sybase PowerDesigner supports more than 60 databases and development environments including Java, the Eclipse open source development environment, and Microsoft Visual Studio and Sybase PowerBuilder.

"Data modeling solutions are becoming increasingly important as information infrastructures become more complex. Modeling data, business processes and applications with PowerDesigner helps organizations understand, and manage the time, cost and risk of making changes to their environment whilst ensuring compliance with regulation," said Andrew de Rozairo, Business Development Manager, Sybase. "Our partnership represents an exciting opportunity to provide essential tools to the UK market utilizing QBSD's expertise in the distribution of software throughout the channel. QBSD is going to help us take this world leading data modeling tool and strengthen its position within the UK."

"PowerDesigner allows business and data analysts, database administrators, IT architects and developers to be more productive and ambitious. This product is a fantastic addition to our portfolio as we are able to offer our customers the market leader in data modeling tools" said Skye Quin, sales and marketing director of QBSD. "We wanted to work with Sybase, not only because of its credibility and product offering, but also to offer our resellers the benefits of selling such a robust and mature tool. This partnership will offer Sybase the opportunity to reassert its market share within the UK."
