Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

Virtualization News: IdentiPHI Biometric Enterprise Security Software Verified as Citrix Ready
SAFsolution 5 Completed A Verification Process To Ensure Compatibility with Virtualization Solution Citrix XenApp

IdentiPHI announced its flagship enterprise security software product, SAFsolution 5, has been verified as Citrix Ready. The Citrix Ready program helps customers identify third-party solutions that add the greatest value in Citrix Application Delivery Infrastructure solutions. SAFsolution 5 completed a verification process to ensure compatibility with virtualization solutions Citrix XenApp and Citrix Password Manager.

XenApp, formerly known as Citrix Presentation Server, is an end-to-end Windows application delivery system that offers both client-side and server-side application virtualization, providing customers optimal application performance and flexible delivery options. XenApp Platinum, which includes single sign-on application security with Password Manager, allows IT to deliver secure applications as a service, providing on-demand access to users while delivering the highest performance and data security.

The combined XenApp and Password Manager solution has market-changing ramifications in the healthcare industry when combined with a biometric solution like SAFsolution 5. Through Hot Desktop, a Password Manager feature, healthcare employees sharing multiple workstations can now move from one geographical location to another, taking a virtual desktop with them with the swipe of a finger. SAFsolution provides the highest level of security in combination with a simplified user experience – a simple touch and go.

“This alliance with Citrix Systems, Inc., combined with IdentiPHI’s industry-leading authentication technology and established relationships in the healthcare industry, gives ultra-mobile healthcare workers a key piece of technology called Hot Desktop that meets stringent privacy regulations,” commented John Atkinson, President of IdentiPHI. “Customers will find using biometrics a convenient option for use with Hot Desktop and other Citrix applications. Obtaining the Citrix Ready certification for SAFsolution was an important step, one that opens up new sales channels for IdentiPHI and gives us a unique industry advantage.”

“As more and more enterprises move from a traditional to a virtualized server environment, it’s imperative to keep their sensitive data as secure as possible,” said Michel Koopman, director of business development at Citrix. “By pairing the XenApp delivery system with IdentiPHI’s biometric authentication solution, enterprises now have the peace of mind that people trying to access critical information on a corporate virtual infrastructure are who they say they are.”

The Citrix Ready certification means IdentiPHI SAFsolution 5 now has direct sales channels in the exploding virtualization market. Through virtualization, companies reap the benefits of optimal application performance and flexible deployment by leveraging a hosted model for operating system and application delivery.

The Citrix Ready program makes it easy for customers to identify complementary products and solutions that can enhance Citrix environments. Customers can be confident that SAFsolution 5 has successfully passed a series of tests established by Citrix and can be trusted to work effectively with XenApp and Password Manager. Citrix Ready products are featured in an online catalog at www.citrixready.com, and carry the Citrix Ready logo.
