Mozy, EMC’s online backup property, says it doubled the size of its enterprise and SMB customer base in the first half and now has more than 750,000 users and 20,000 business customers backing up 7.6 billion files to its 10-petabyte storage system.
It also said that that Staples subsidiary Thrive Networks Inc has signed a contract to provide Mozy online backup to its customers as Staples Network Services by Thrive.
Mozy users include General Electric and Vanderbilt University and EMC has integrated Mozy with its recently acquired Iomega products to extend its backup capabilities.
Mozy tried upping its prices there for a while, but they’re reportedly back down again to what they were.
