Black Duck Software announced the addition of a new partner in Taiwan, E-Soft Technologies, further expanding the company’s substantial presence in East Asia. Taiwanese companies increasingly utilize open source software to cut development costs and accelerate time-to-market of software. Black Duck products and solutions help software organizations realize these benefits while managing licensing, security and other risks and issues associated with unmanaged open source code. E-Soft will promote Black Duck products and offer other Black Duck services to help organizations manage the use of software assets governed by open source licenses.

“Embedded software development organizations need tools that will boost productivity and help administer how software assets are created, managed and licensed,” said Alan Facey, executive vice president of sales at Black Duck Software. “E-Soft will help us provide these solutions to key Taiwanese telecommunications and embedded device and system manufacturers.”

The partnership is the latest evidence of Black Duck’s expansion in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. With offices and channel distributors in more than 18 countries worldwide, Black Duck’s user base includes developers in China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and many other countries. On July 31st, Black Duck will sponsor its first customer seminar in Taiwan. In addition to introducing its products and services to Taiwanese companies, Black Duck will present examples and case studies of open source management in Asia.
