This summer Mochi Craft’s new
lobster boat the Dolphin 54’ fly is to leave the yard in Forlì, In this way the
inventor of the Italian Lobster Boat Style responds to demands of owners from
across the world who would like the opportunity to choose Mochi Craft
excellence in both a sun top and flybridge version.
The new Dolphin – created by Norberto Ferretti, the Ferretti
Group’s AYT (Advanced Yacht Technology) Engineering Division and the Victory
Design Studio – replicates the successful initiative that led to packed order
books in 2007 for the Dolphin 64’!
After revealing at Cannes
in 2003 the Dolphin 51’, first member of the fleet, Mochi Craft has been
originating throughout successive years a full range of crafts between 44’ and
74’ winning countless awards from the international press and obtaining a
significant commercial success. They have now become “must haves” for owners
who appreciate a product with a unique personality that embodies a perfect
balance between breathtaking lines, the skilful choice of prized, natural
materials and the finest on board facilities and equipment.
The wheel comes full circle with the new Dolphin 54’fly, a
triumphant return to the 50-60 foot class that creates a new reference point, capitalizing
on all the experience acquired over the past five crucial years.
The flybridge, a perfect place to enjoy sun and sea to the
full, offers clever solutions and an ingenious layout. It’s accessed from the
cockpit by the wood and steel stairs behind the wet bar unit, which can also be
equipped with a grill on request.
The sky lounge sun pad has plenty of room for two people to
stretch out and offers a retractable Bimini to create shady areas for maximum on
board comfort. The command position, especially for those who prefer to take
the helm in the open air, fits in perfectly with the atmosphere of the
flybridge. The instrument console opens electronically, and there’s also comfy
seating for 2.This is flanked by a C-shaped divan seating up to 5.
The design solutions include a reconfiguration of on board
spaces, giving this 16 meter yacht the comfort and functionality of a much
larger design while retaining typical Dolphin features like the sinuous lines,
highlighted by warm, bright new cream-yellow livery and the extensive use of
solid wood, from the inviting teak floor in the roomy cockpit, furnished with
two comfy divans at the sides and one flanking the dinette entrance. The beauty
and practicality of the wood extends throughout the yacht’s interior and
exterior surfaces, right up to the bows, where there are two luxurious sun pads
accommodating up to three people.
The cockpit gives access to the tender garage. Entry is
provided by two hatches – one is electro-hydraulically operated, and when fully
open becomes a roomy swim platform. The other is operated manually.
The tender – ready for use and also available personalized
by MOCHI CRAFT on request – is easy to launch using a clever system that allows
it slide directly into the water.
On entering the living area visitors will be entranced by
wide windows creating an ideal combination of sea and sky views. Quality hides
in natural colors reflect the elegance of the salon, furnished with a roomy
C-shaped divan and an extendable teak table.
The spacious, well-equipped galley extends along the
starboard side of the salon, encouraging an atmosphere of warm sociability. The
galley gives access to a below deck storage area which can be transformed on
request into a welcoming crew cabin with separate head.
The command console is located forward, to port. Next to it,
on the starboard side of the salon, is a co-pilot’s chair for any guest wishing
to keep the owner company during a cruise - a totally new element that once
again shows the care lavished on every person aboard this new lobster boat.
This section gives access to the sleeping area. At the end
of the corridor lies the owner’s stateroom, a suite with two sweeping windows
stretching down to sea level, flooding the space with natural light and
creating the sensation of being able to plunge your hands directly into the sea
and enjoy all its moods to the full. The cabin has two spacious cupboards, a
large set of drawers beneath the bed and numerous wall units, and is flanked by
a private bathroom with shower unit.
Two guest cabins are sited to either side of the central
corridor, a twin to port and a cabin to starboard that offers the owner a
choice between two functional solutions – a standard version with a double bed
and extra single above it that can accommodate up to three guests, or an
optional version with large double bed and spacious wardrobe. These cabins
share the bathroom accessed from either the central corridor or the port cabin.
Here too the spaces are filled with light from the sun and sea, flooding in
through the large windows and the new opening portholes in the deckhouse.
