Camper & Nicholsons Marinas
has appointed Clyde Rawls to serve as Port Louis
general manager in Grenada.
Rawls, who relocated from the USA for the position, has many years’ experience
having managed three resort marinas in Florida
– including the Bahia Mar Beach Resort & Yachting Center
in Ft. Lauderdale.
Situated in its own natural lagoon on the
lee side of the island, Port Louis
marina is expected to be complete in Spring 2009. Prior to this, Rawls will be
on site to oversee the construction schedule, deal with new customer enquiries
as well as the day to day operations for the 50 fully serviced berths currently
in operation. From November he will also oversee the opening of nine additional
superyacht slips – ranging from 75 to 85m in length.
Rawls said: “I am delighted to be joining
the Camper & Nicholsons team and look forward to helping establish a world
class marina with the high standards that C&NM have established all over
the world for more than 200 years. Grenada
is in a perfect position for charters and cruisers wanting to explore the
untouched islands of Grenada
and the Grenadines. This lush, colourful spice
island is destined to become one of the Mecca’s for yachting in the Caribbean
and is the perfect gateway to the Grenadines with its International Airport and
direct and non-stop flights to the US and UK.”
Currently being developed alongside the
spectacular EC$1.5 billion Maritime
Village project, when
complete the marina will offer more than 350 berths for craft from 10m to 90m.
