Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

Opalis Announces IT Process Virtualization Automation Solution for CA eHealth
New Integration Pack Delivers IT Services Faster, Reduces Production Execution Timeframes for Systems Monitoring

Opalis announced the availability of Opalis Integration Server’s integration with CA eHealth. The new integration pack enables customers to create unified, enterprise-wide, cross-platform monitoring services that deliver IT services faster, with fewer errors, throughout the data center.

“Opalis offers deep integration with more systems management tools than any other vendor in the IT process automation market,” said Charles Crouchman, Chief Technology Officer for Opalis Software. “This Integration Pack for CA eHealth enables enterprise IT organizations to integrate CA eHealth with their IT infrastructure for end-to-end system health management.”

The Opalis Integration Pack for CA eHealth lets IT administrators automate use of CA eHealth’s performance monitoring, diagnostic and automated reporting capabilities, integrating the tasks of calculating long-term trends, baselining network resources, and providing performance reports for critical network components such as backbones, server clusters, and Internet links services with other IT systems like IT systems monitors and service desks.

Using the Opalis Integration Pack for CA eHealth, along with Integration Packs for other monitoring and service management products, Opalis can raise incident tickets on IT service desks for critical alarms on pre-determined network nodes and then generate At-a-Glance reports real-time for critical nodes tracked on eHealth and append the report analysis back to the original incident tickets.

Opalis delivers solutions that enable IT process automation inside and outside the data center, across heterogeneous IT ecosystems. The Opalis solutions are easily implemented and quickly return value. Unlike traditional business services management, data center automation, or IT service automation products from other vendors, Opalis employs a scalable ‘enterprise services’ architecture to automate processes and workflows for critical IT initiatives, such as virtualization, provisioning, ITIL, disaster recovery, consolidation, and security. Opalis is a forerunner in seamless integration with systems management tools from vendors including CA, EMC, Microsoft, IBM, VMware, BladeLogic, BMC Software, and HP Software, thereby providing the integration bridge that allows IT management to orchestrate intelligent automation throughout the data center regardless of the complexity and silos in their IT infrastructure.

With Opalis, enterprises can realize the benefits of IT process automation, driving down management costs and increasing productivity, while enforcing compliant best practices aimed at improving performance and availability of critical business applications.
