Edmiston & Company’s classic yacht specialist, Mike
Horsley, in the Antibes
office started 2008 with the sale of two significant classic yachts, the 36.5m
1936 Thendara, designed by Alfred Mylne, and 25m 1948 Agneta. Both owners are
preparing their new respective boats to race each other in the popular
Mediterranean classic regatta circuit.
For those looking for modern comforts under sail, the 30m
ketch Persistence is newly listed at €2.3m by Steve Bridgeford of the Cote d d’Azur office. Designed by Sparkman & Stephens
she sleeps eight guests and has been thoroughly refitted recently.
On display at the Dubai
boat show in March, the 36.7m Sheleila, built by Guy Couach, a development of a
high quality military hull, is for sale at US$8.5m. James Auld of Edmiston’s Monaco office will be happy to show prospective
buyers her contemporary, sleek interior from Frank Relynaud and Elsa Van Loo at
Dubai.
Edmiston’s New York office is expanding with two new faces:
Steven Myers, founder of yachtcouncil.org, is a sales broker while Robert
Shephard, heads up the charter department in the US as well as acting as a
charter broker. A number of impressive large yachts are listed for sale by
Diego Marroquin in the New York office, the
50m Amels Malibu,
designed by Terence Disdale with Reymond Langton interior, having a price
reduction of €4m seriously for sale.
