StrikeIron Expands Web Services Marketplace with SOA Offering
StrikeIron announced two new Financial and Business data services from Gale

StrikeIron announced two new Financial and Business data services from Gale, part of Cengage Learning, have been added to its expanding Web Services Marketplace: Gale Business Intelligence Web Service 1.0.0 and Gale Business Information Web Service 1.0.0.

Gale is a world leader in e-research and educational publishing for libraries, schools and businesses. Best known for its accurate and authoritative reference content as well as its intelligent organization of full-text magazine and newspaper articles, the company creates and maintains more than 600 databases that are published online, in print, as eBooks and in microform.

Gale’s data services provide financial and corporate information on hundreds of thousands of U.S. and international companies, with 90 percent of the companies being privately held. Gale’s proprietary database is updated daily by teams of researchers around the globe and the top companies are reviewed every six weeks.

“Publishing our data with the StrikeIron Marketplace expands the availability of Gale data to enterprise customers wanting new ways to access customized solutions for business intelligence,” said Matthew Hong, Vice President and General Manager of Open Web Markets at Gale. “StrikeIron provides numerous vehicles to gain access to our data, complementing the premium Gale products available in libraries and on the Internet, and is critical as new technologies enter the market.”

Gale services added to the Marketplace include:

  • The Gale Business Intelligence Web Service
  • The Gale Business Information Web Service

The StrikeIron Web Services Marketplace offers over 100 data services for the ecommerce, Finance, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Data Quality and Business Intelligence markets from providers such as D&B, Zacks, MapQuest, Cdyne, Xignite, YP.com and IDExec. The Marketplace provides business users and enterprises with a single location for accessing quality data, for seamless integration into any application, platform, product or Web site.

“Gale’s data services provide business users with unparalleled and robust insight into companies across the globe,” said Bob Brauer, CEO and founder of StrikeIron. “Customers can integrate this data directly into their own applications, or gain access through other Web 2.0 applications including mashups, widgets and gadgets to provide business users with a customized choice for leveraging this real-time data.”
