"Veni, Vidi, Video" - Macromedia Brings Flash Video into the Mainstream

Responding to what the company says is pent-up demand by developers for using Flash Video on the Web, Macromedia said it's releasing a Flash Video Kit on September 1. Flash Video Kit has software that lets video conversions move from Windows Media or AVI, into Flash. Mike Downey, technical support manager for Flash, said that Macromedia found that over 74 percent of Dreamweaver users wanted to add Flash Video but found it too hard. For this reason, Downey said, "The kit is based around leveraging the ubiquity of the [Flash] Player, so it's a fast and easy way to get video on their sites." In order to bring streaming Flash Video to its customers Macromedia is offering a 15-day trial of Flash Video Streaming from VitalStream as a hosted streaming service. Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
