(November 20, 2003) - iAnywhere Solutions Inc., a subsidiary of Sybase, Inc., and Intel Corporation are working together to further the development of mobilized software for small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs). The companies unveiled a toolkit that will enable software developers to deliver applications for SMB mobile computing and Wi-Fi users. Each kit will include mobile enterprise software, an Intel Centrino mobile technology-based mobile PC, an Intel XScale technology-based handheld, and a wireless LAN access point.

The Wi-Fi Toolkit provides software developers with everything they need to build innovative wireless applications, including:

iAnywhere mobile software - development copies of mobile solutions

  • SQL Anywhere Studio - the market leading database for mobile, embedded and small to medium-sized business environments.
  • M-Business Server - the industry's most scalable platform for delivering Web-based content to mobile devices.
  • Manage Anywhere Studio - an all-in-one solution that provides central control of software distribution and updates, system configuration, and device inventory for desktops, laptops, servers and handheld devices.
  • Pylon Anywhere - a full-featured solution for extending existing Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange infrastructures to mobile and wireless devices.
  • Sybase Pocket PowerBuilder - an integrated application development environment designed to simplify and speed the creation of mobile and wireless enterprise applications.

    Intel-based mobile hardware

  • Notebook PC - an HP NX7000 notebook PC based on Intel Centrino mobile technology.
