(October 24, 2002) - Altova Inc.'s AUTHENTIC 5 is available now as a placeholder control for the newly released Microsoft Content Management Server 2002 (CMS 2002). AUTHENTIC 5 is a standards-based, browser-enabled document editor that puts business content directly in XML format through a word processor-like interface; the content can then be saved to CMS 2002 for subsequent retrieval and transformation.

Altova suggests AUTHENTIC 5 as an editing component for use in building document frameworks. The AUTHENTIC 5 Placeholder Control facilitates development of document frameworks, allowing any developer to simply drag and drop the placeholder control into the Visual Studio .NET editing environment for subsequent customization. AUTHENTIC 5 includes built-in forms (user interfaces) for easy editing of various industry standards including DocBook, NewsML, USPTO Red Book, NITF, P3P and numerous others.
