Sun Services Consultants to Use OptimalJ to Help Speed Time-to-Value for Enterprise Applications

(March 20, 2003) - Sun Microsystems can now use Compuware's OptimalJ Development Environment to accelerate enterprise development projects for its customers using J2EE. Compuware will also incorporate Sun's J2EE Patterns into OptimalJ, giving Sun's consultants a new, more powerful tool they can use to quickly develop J2EE technology-based applications for their clients that use Sun's patterns. J2EE patterns, which are used to create J2EE technology-based applications, describe solutions to typical problems encountered by developers. J2EE patterns represent "best practice" approaches that express proven techniques clearly and simply, reducing the complexity of J2EE technology development by automating reuse of successful designs and architectures. The new agreement with Sun will allow Compuware to add Sun's J2EE patterns to OptimalJ, which automatically generates working applications that can be customized by developers. Consequently, these applications will comply with Sun's J2EE pattern standards, making the creation of J2EE technology-based applications simpler and faster. OptimalJ is Compuware's high-productivity, model-driven, pattern-based tool for developing J2EE technology-based applications. It implements the Object Management Group's (OMG) Model Driven Architecture (MDA) in its entirety. OptimalJ uses patterns to automatically generate code that transform models into a proper architecture and ultimately into a working application. OptimalJ will help Sun's consultants to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of enterprise Java development. Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
