(San Francisco) – At the Oracle OpenWorld Conference, Compuware Corporation demonstrated new technology for debugging PL/SQL and Java-stored procedures for the Oracle 9i database. Compuware DevPartnerDB for Oracle accelerates and simplifies the development of reliable, high-performance applications by providing developers with the unique ability to perform proactive analysis and debugging of stored procedures. “Oracle customers need to protect their 9I database investment and be able to ensure a continuously high return,'' said Carl Olofson, Program Director for Information and Data Management software research, International Data Corporation. “To do that, they need to reduce application errors and enable testing earlier in the application life cycle.'' Compuware demonstrated how DevPartnerDB for Oracle debugs stored procedures for an Oracle 9I database in the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET environment. This will enable developers to quickly debug stored procedures without having to leave the development environment, thus enhancing productivity. DevPartnerDB enables the debugging of Java stored procedures. This technology extends the development, testing, and debugging capabilities for PL/SQL stored procedures to Java development. The new Java debugging capabilities combined with the existing PL/SQL debugging features of DevPartnerDB provide Java developers the industry's only integrated, multi-language debugging solution. Compuware DevPartnerDB for Oracle version 4.0 is currently shipping and the new debugging capability will be available in early 2002. Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
