Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

Java Developer's Journal Projects Record Print Circulation of Over 115,000; July-December Six Month Average
SYS-CON Media's Java Developer's Journal Becomes the Most Popular i-Technology Magazine of the Year, Reaching a Seven-Year High

Montvale, NJ, December 11, 2002 - SYS-CON Media, headquartered in Montvale, New Jersey, announced today that it is projecting a new record circulation for Java Developer's Journal - a more than 115,000(*) copy average for the most recent six months ending in December 2002. JDJ is reaching another 25,000 - 30,000 readers per month via its digital edition, which is an identical copy of its print version, cover-to-cover, including all display advertisement and sponsor pages (www.sys-con.com/java/pdf/lucene.pdf).

"In December, JDJ's most recent six-month average print circulation is expected to reach more than 115,000 copies, 5,000 more than the previously projected number" said Carmen Gonzalez, executive vice president of sales and marketing at SYS-CON Media. "Our research shows that most of our readers are corporate i-technology buyers of software and IT services, decision makers, and developers who evaluate, recommend, or approve purchases. With an average pass-along rate of 2.7 readers per copy, JDJ's reach exceeds an unmatched 310,000 i-technology professionals. Java Developer's Journal continues to provide an unmatched value to all of its advertising partners with a rate base of only 60,000 copies."

Java Developer's Journal will begin the New Year with its annual "Java & Linux Focus" issue. "Our annual Java & Linux Focus issues circulate as collectible issues of Java Developer's Journal," said Miles Silverman, vice president of sales and marketing at SYS-CON Media. "In addition to serving our current advertising partners, who are among the top Java technology providers in the world, the January issue of Java Developer's Journal will also become the most significant advertising platform of the year for all Linux vendors (www.sys-con.com/java/advertise.cfm)."

As part of its 2003 editorial calendar, SYS-CON Media also announced today that Java Developer's Journal will include an "Oracle Developer Supplement" with its March 2003 issue ( www.sys-con.com/java/oracleradio/radio.cfm), and its first annual "Security Focus" issue in April.

Also next year, Java Developer's Journal will be the first SYS-CON title to be printed in the German language, and distributed in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
