SYS-CON Media Announces Custom Publishing Division
SYS-CON Custom Media Will Be Headed by Roger Strukhoff, a Longtime IT Publishing Executive and Custom Publishing Expert

MONTVALE, NJ, November 1, 2000 -- SYS-CON Media, Inc. (www.sys-con.com), headquartered in Montvale, New Jersey, announced today the formation of SYS-CON Custom Media, which will provide high-quality custom publishing services to leading companies in the Internet Technology industries.

SYS-CON Custom Media's main office will be located in San Ramon, California, and headed by Roger Strukhoff, a longtime IT publishing executive and custom publishing expert. Strukhoff is also the head of the Six Eighty Marketing Alliance, which provides integrated marketing and communications services to IT clients worldwide. Strukhoff grew up in the newspaper business in Illinois, then spent 15 years with Miller Freeman Publications and IDG before cofounding IT Associates International. He was part of the Miller Freeman high-tech launch team in the early 1980s, and served as managing editor of UNIX Review. At IDG, he served as editorial director of new products for the IDG/Peterborough division, launching titles such as CD-ROM Review, Portable Computing, GamePro, and SunWorld. He also served as president/publisher of the global SunWorld magazine and trade show line.

Through IT Associates and CoverOne Media, he's launched numerous custom publishing projects and events, and consulted for events such as Windows World, KM World Expo, and JavaOne.

He's been on teams that won awards from the Illinois Press Association, the Business Press Association, the Magazine Publisher's Association, Circulation Management magazine, and numerous others. He's a graduate of Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, studied technical writing at UC-Berkeley, and attended the IDG Publishing Institute at Babson College.

"By joining forces with Roger and his primarily West Coast-based group and creating a new custom publishing team, SYS-CON is able to leverage a variety of complementary strengths," said Fuat Kircaali, president and CEO of SYS-CON. "Through SYS-CON Custom Media, Roger and his team will be working with the core SYS-CON team at our Montvale, New Jersey, headquarters to develop high-quality turnkey magazines, inserts and supplements on a custom basis for our advertising partners and other key IT companies."

"SYS-CON Media has seen incredible growth over the past few years, placing it in the Inc. 500 list of the nation's fastest growing companies," Strukhoff pointed out. "Through SYS-CON Custom Media, we will now be able to leverage SYS-CON's strong magazine brands with custom publishing capabilities that will only strengthen SYS-CON's overall services to its readers, advertisers, trade show attendees, and exhibitors."
