SYS-CON Media's Magazines Generate Record Newsstand Sales Performance
SYS-CON's Java Developer's Journal Becomes the Only i-Technology Magazine with YTD Sales Increase Among Magazines Published By

Montvale, NJ, October 23, 2002 - SYS-CON Media, headquartered in Montvale, New Jersey, announced today a record year-to-date increase in SYS-CON Media's single-copy newsstand sales. This year, SYS-CON Media distributed 46 issues, versus 25 in 2001 during the same time period. As a result of carefully tailored newsstand strategy, SYS-CON distributed 27% fewer copies than last year, but sold 16% more copies on newsstands worldwide. This year, SYS-CON's eight newsstand titles also had higher cover prices, which generated record single copy sales revenue.

According to recently published independent single-copy sales trend report, SYS-CON's Java Developer's Journal is the only magazine whose newsstand sales showed an increase (up 7.5%) during the first half of 2002 as compared to the same period last year. Percentage changes in these titles are as follows:
