Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

SYS-CON Publications Named America's Fastest Growing Publishing Company by Inc. Magazine
SYS-CON Publications Ranked 194th on This Year's Inc. 500 List; Jupiter Communications, One of Last Year's Hot IPOs, Ranked 391s

MONTVALE, N.J. - Jul. 19, 2000 - SYS-CON Publications, Inc. (www.sys-con.com), headquartered in Montvale, NJ has been named by Inc. Magazine ( www.inc.com/500) to its annual list of the 500 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. "We are delighted to be the only publishing company selected for this year's list," said Fuat Kircaali, founder, president and CEO of SYS-CON Publications, Inc. "Although we have experienced consistent growth since 1994, the year the company was founded, only after SYS-CON turned five years old were we eligible for Inc. 500 nomination.

Based on our third-quarter results, our sales increased by 60% over the same period last year and we are confident that the firm will be part of Inc. 500 once again if we remain privately held."

The Inc. 500, published on October 15th and read by over 2.5 million readers, is an exclusive report on the companies and CEOs who are changing the face of American business. Noteworthy alumni include such household corporate names as Microsoft, Oracle, WordPerfect, CompUSA, GateWay 2000, Intuit, e-Trade, Timberland, Jenny Craig and Domino's Pizza.

SYS-CON Publications is one of 79 companies also founded in 1994 that made it to this year's list, based on its five-year growth through 1998. SYS-CON's 1,307% sales growth during its first five years of operation placed the company in 194th place among the 500 fastest-growing US companies. Sales by the 18th annual Inc. 500 companies increased by an average of 1,715% (an average of over $ 22 million) in just five years. Collective 1998 sales of Inc. 500 companies exceeds $ 11 billion. SYS-CON Publications was the only company in the publishing industry to make it to this year's list.

A look at the Inc. 500 by industry indicates that, as in past years, computer-related companies dominate the rankings (46% of the 500). The remainder of the list comprises companies from the following industries: business services (15%), consumer goods and services (10%), financial services (6%), telecommunications (5%), construction (5%), health/medical (4%), industrial products (4%), transportation (2%), and environmental and media companies (1% each).
