Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

Java Developer's Journal Announces New Record Circulation With A Total Distribution Of More Than 136,000 Copies
JDJ's Circulation For June 2001, The Most Current Month Compiled, Exceeds 104,000 Copies And Six-Month Average Exceeds A Record

Montvale, NJ, September 24, 2001 - SYS-CON Media (www.sys-con.com.), headquartered in Montvale, New Jersey, announced that circulation of Java Developer's Journal reached 104,254 copies with the June 2001 print edition, generating single-issue revenues of over $1 million. JDJ also announced a six-month circulation of 97,325 - up from its previous six-month average of 89,652 - during the period ending June 2001. In addition, JDJ delivered a 236,715-copy monthly circulation of its digital edition with the September 2001 issue.

"We are very pleased to see that Java Developer's Journal is serving the fast growing Java developer community around the globe as the hands-down leading source of print and online information, and its lead increases with every issue," said Fuat Kircaali, founder and CEO of SYS-CON Media. "Our hardworking SYS-CON team is very happy to be part of a leading company that offers unmatched quality information products in print, online, and with our i-technology conferences."

"As of June 2001, Java Developer's Journal's circulation reached another record number of readers," said Carmen Gonzalez, senior vice president of sales and marketing. "Exceeding our rate base of 60,000 by more than 50% means that our advertising partners are getting an unmatched value for their advertising dollars invested in JDJ. We strongly believe that we cover the entire Java print advertising market, including our competitors' reach, at a fraction of the cost. This saves our partners a considerable amount of money by removing the need to advertise in multiple magazines."

"Unlike our competitors, JDJ has always underpromised and overdelivered to its advertising partners," said Engin Sezici, circulation manager for Java Developer's Journal. "In the recent past -June 2000- one JDJ competitor promised a 30,000 copy rate base and delivered a little over 23,000, while another competitor promised again a rate base of 30,000 and delivered only a little over 24,000. We have never underdelivered our rate base and look forward to exceeding it by more than 50%."

"Today we announce our new media partnership program with Sun Microsystems by presenting an exclusive interactive offer from Java Developer's Journal and Sun Microsystems," said Robyn Forma, advertising sales director of Java Developer's Journal. "All our advertisers will receive the details of this offer in the mail later this week (www.sys-con.com/java/sun2.pdf."
