Montvale, NJ, August 30, 2001 - SYS-CON Events (www.sys-con.com) announced today that the delegate registrations to its two East Coast “Edge” events JDJEdge 2001 International Java™ Developer Conference & Expo and Web Services Edge 2001 International Web Services Conference & Expo East are expected to reach 5,000. This will make this event the largest gathering of Web services professionals and companies in the world. The dual conference and expo will be held September 23-26, at the Hilton New York.

Gupta and Soley Join as Keynote Speakers:

“We are very pleased to announce that Yogesh Gupta, chief technology officer of Computer Associates, and Dr. Richard Soley, founder and CEO of Object Management Group, will join the conference as keynote speakers,” said Cathy Walters, vice president of SYS-CON Events. “Web Services Edge 2001 International Web Services Conference & Expo, colocated with JDJEdge 2001 International Java Developer Conference & Expo, will present an all-star lineup of distinguished faculty members, and will be one of the most significant i-technology conferences of recent years.”

James Gosling, the highly regarded "Father of Java" and a VP and Fellow of Sun Microsystems, Inc., is featured as the opening keynoter on Monday, September 24. He'll be introduced by Alan Williamson, CTO, n-ary Ltd. and editor-in-chief, Java Developer's Journal.

Alan Baratz, CEO of Zaplet, Inc., and former president of the Software Products & Platforms Division at Sun Microsystems addresses the conference on Monday afternoon. He'll be introduced by Sean Rhody, JDJEdge Conference tech chair and editor-in-chief, Web Services Journal.

Also on Monday, Jeremy Allaire, founder of Allaire Corporation and the creator of ColdFusion, will address the ColdFusion Fast Track super session.

On Tuesday, September 25, the conference will feature a panel discussion titled "Web Services Paradigm." The keynote panel will be moderated by Rick Ross, founder and president of Java Lobby, and the panelists will include James Gosling, Alan Baratz, Kevin Lynch (president, Products,Macromedia), Greg Kiessling (CEO, Sitraka), David A.
