BEA WebLogic Developer's Journal Generates Record Advertising Revenue With Its September Issue
Less Than One Year After Its Launch, WLDJ Establishes Itself as a Leading Resource for WebLogic Developers and BEA Partners

MONTVALE, NJ, August 20, 2002 SYS-CON Media, headquartered in Montvale, New Jersey, announced today that the September issue of BEA WebLogic Developer's Journal reached a record ad revenue with 85% better than budgeted advertising sales. WLDJ was launched in January as the leading monthly print publication serving the BEA WebLogic developers and BEA partners worldwide.

In addition to BEA Systems, BEA partners who participated in this issue include Altaworks, Appfluent Technology, Intel, Hewlett Packard, Rational Software, Borland, Sun Microsystems, Covasoft, Dirig Software, Panacya, Inc., Precise Software, Sitraka JProbe, PerformaSure and Wily Software. WLDJ's September issue is bundled with a special BEA WebLogic CD, which is distributed to all subscribers as well as newsstand copies.

"When we launched BEA WebLogic Developer's Journa in January 2002 as an independent source of quality WebLogic information, we were confident that the magazine would be widely accepted by the BEA developer community," said Fuat Kircaali, publisher of BEA WebLogic Developer's Journal. "Increasing advertiser support for the publication is an indication of not only the wide acceptance of the magazine but also BEA's solid leadership position in the marketplace. This allows us to reach deep into the BEA WebLogic developer community with WLDJ's unmatched editorial coverage."

"SYS-CON is dedicated to publish the best editorial content and aims to reach every WebLogic developer with WLDJ's unmatched editorial offerings," said Miles Silverman, vice president of marketing at SYS-CON Media. "We feel we are accomplishing our goal and are excited to see the growing support from our advertisers who are also among BEA business partners."

"The tremendous success of WebLogic Developer's Journal is evidence of the strong growth and excitement in the developer community for news, resources and information about developing on the market-leading application infrastructure platform: BEA WebLogic," said Diana Reid, senior director of developer marketing at BEA Systems. "The growing ecosystem of more than 440,000 BEA developers, 2,000 partners and 13,500 customers demonstrates BEA's tremendous momentum in the marketplace, and provides an awesome opportunity for advertisers of complementary products and services in WebLogic Developer's Journal."
