The Internet of Things: Another Silicon Valley invention to get all excited about? Or is it something that will hold up beyond the California border and next January?
If you’re aching to know, then I suggest you attend the upcoming “Monetizing the ‘Internet of Things’” presentation by our illustrious, and super smart co-founder, Brendan O’Brien. He’ll fly in from the East Coast just to talk to you all about the IoT next Tuesday, October 14th at 12 noon at the Marriott Marquis Hotel, Foothill-F room, just steps away from the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.
To be sure, I think you know what the answer to the question posed above is. The IoT is here, and it’s happening now. But there’s nothing like hearing Brendan talk about it. It’s ‘dinner and a show.’ (Well, no dinner, but you get my drift).
Brendan will talk about Google and what they’ve done of late to show you why we may need to take this seriously. Google is only one of his case studies, but I won’t give away the other. You’ll just have to go.
Brendan talks about a host of things that even I find surprising. I heard back at the ranch that the first time he presented this, there was standing-room only and folks lined up to talk to him afterwards. Do I need to say more?
If you do want something more than entertainment, never fear, he’ll talk about how you can prepare your business for what’s ahead and discuss some of the inherent challenges of the IoT, as well as considerations and approaches for monetization. Brendan believes strongly that in order to take advantage of the opportunities the “Internet of Things” brings your business, you need to start preparing now if you want to make money off this amazing trend.
So please take 45 minutes of your time, walk 5 minutes down 4th Street toward Market Street. The Marriott Marquis is on the left-hand side of the street, right past Mission Street. If the Foothill-F room is hard to find, ask the concierge and go hear what our visionary has to say.
If you regret it, call me at 415-549-2554 to complain. I bet I won’t get one call.
