PALO ALTO, CA and BELMONT, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/28/13 -- Fovia Medical, Inc., a world leader in volume rendering technology, and Radiant Sage LLC, a leading provider of on-demand clinical image management solutions, today announced a collaboration to deliver High Definition Volume Rendering® to the pharmaceutical market.
The Radiant/Fovia collaboration will provide real-time access to the world's highest quality 3D medical imaging, thereby enabling clinical sponsors to make critical decisions earlier in the development cycle and facilitating more rapid and cost-effective drug development. Radiant Sage will be able to deliver Fovia's full suite of sophisticated volumetric visualization functionality, including automatic segmentation and volume measurement, to global leaders in drug discovery and research -- including pharmaceutical, biotech, device and research enterprises.
Fovia's flexible and scalable software development kit (SDK) is currently deployed in a variety of fields, providing cloud-based, enterprise-wide and local imaging to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). In clinical image management, HDVR enables rapid diagnosis with real-time visualization and quantitative assessment accurate to the sub-voxel level. The CPU-based solution supports 24/7 image availability on off-the-shelf computers without requiring expensive graphics cards, thus allowing convenient and inexpensive access, sharing, data manipulation and management.
"Our customers need the ability to retain control of their studies during the entire trial process, make necessary image-aided decisions, and have visibility of their data in real time. With Fovia as a partner, we can deliver an uncompromised, flexible solution that meets these needs," said Ven Thangaraj, Chief Executive Officer of Radiant Sage, LLC. "We simply could not provide the fast and high-quality access demanded by the global pharmaceutical leaders without the advanced features and thin-client technology of Fovia's HDVR software."
Ken Fineman, Chief Executive Officer of Fovia, stated, "Fovia is thrilled to have a partner provide such an innovative offering to leaders in the pharmaceutical field. Radiant's game-changing products are clearly a step ahead and provide a uniquely comprehensive and timely delivery of clinical trial image management tools."
