Mobile World Congress 2013: Italtel Presents at MWC 2013 its Solutions for Network Transformation and its Competence Center on Mobile

Italtel, a leading player in next generation networks and services, is present at Mobile Word Congress 2013 with its products and solutions for the wireless and wireline industry that include IMS and VoLTE platform, network migration, HD voice&video, virtualization and Cloud, multi-vendor System Integration. In particular, Italtel has created a Competence Center on Mobile dedicated to support mobile operators, private enterprises and public administration.

The increasing popularity of new consumer devices, particularly smartphone and tablets, and their content-rich applications are changing the way of communication among people. This circumstance, despite offering operators tremendous opportunities, introduces a lot of several complex challenges that affect costs, revenues, traditional business models and quality of experience for users. Mobile operators are faced with the challenge of ensuring better user experience levels, preventing discarded data sessions as well as slow network speed and reducing subscriber churn. •    IMS & VoLTE Platforms

Since when IMS took the first step, Italtel has been very active in designing and evolving its own IMS core. The reason is related to the opportunity offered by IMS technology to gather the complete intelligence of the network in a single point. Italtel has developed on its products all the functionalities for a complete IMS architecture, compatible with "All-In-One" compact concept and ready for VoLTE (HD video included) and RCSe.

The solution is composed by: i-MCS (Italtel Multimedia Communication Suite) which includes elements belonging to Control Layer and Service Layer; i-RPS (Italtel Rounting&Policy Server); i-TDS (Data Layer). Italtel has recently included in its own IMS new functionalities to fit VoLTE architecture evolution in order to minimize the time delay introduced during the handover from LTE E-UTRAN to UMTS/GSM (UTRAN/GERAN) access area coverage. Italtel solution for VoLTE includes, in addition, further modular functional entities which enable a full interconnectivity between 2G/3G and IMS/LTE networks.

  • System Integration & Competence Center on Mobile

Leveraging the strong experience in designing and implementing VoIP and IP solutions, Italtel has the required skills and technological readiness to support the enablement of Mobile Internet Solutions both for Enterprises and for Service Providers, helping the latter to achieve their goals of data/video traffic optimization as well as data traffic monetization.
