I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Route1 Provides Product Development Update

TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/21/13 -- Route1 Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ROI), a digital security and identity management company whose customers include the U.S. Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Energy and the Government of Canada, today provided an update on its short-term product development road map. Prior to March 31, 2013, Route1 intends to make available for sale the following technologies:

MobiLINK

MobiLINK solves the challenge of secure delivering of internal applications to mobile users. MobiLINK is a new technology offering for Route1.

Available for download from the Apple App Store, MobiLINK is an authentication and secure connection technology that enables remote users to securely access internal applications using a device running iOS, including iPad, iPad Mini, iPhone, and iPod touch devices.

"MobiLINK is in direct response to feedback we have received from current and prospective clients when discussing their mobility and security requirements," said Tony Busseri, CEO of Route1. "MobiLINK is Route1's first technology offering that decouples our authentication capability from our remote access protocol."

MobiLINK utilizes the MobiNET, Route1's universal identity management and service delivery platform to reliably connect remote users to their workspace from any location in the world.

MobiLINK empowers enterprises to securely provide internal application(s) to the remote workforce. MobiLINK is NOT a VPN-based technology and does not create additional nodes on the enteprrise network or open your application to the outside world.

To use MobiLINK 1.0, the enterprise needs to host their own browser-based accessible application(s), and permit incoming HTTPS (mutually authenticated TLS 1.1) connections into the demilitarized zone (DMZ).

"MobiLINK meets the growing market demand for mobile users to be able to securely access specific enterprise applications while working from their own or an enterprise issued iPad," said Brian Brunetti, President of Route1. "Initial feedback from the market place on the MobiLINK technology has been positive and helped us further refine the offering to meet a need that Route1 believes to be under serviced."

MobiKEY for iOS

MobiKEY for iOS is a new technology offering for Route1.

MobiKEY subscribers will now be able to use MobiKEY on a device running iOS, including iPad, iPad Mini, iPhone, and iPod touch devices. MobiKEY is a full desktop, secure remote access technology that integrates multi-factor authentication and identity management in a mobile computing environment.

"Evolving technology, network based services, volumes of digital data and ubiquitous connectivity have created a demand for increased mobile access capabilities in both the public and private sectors. Further, there is an increase in teleworking and a prevailing allowance by organizations that encourage the employee to "bring your own device," said Tony Busseri, CEO of Route1. "The challenge for an organization is how to address access, data security and entitlement management in a balanced, yet cost effective fashion. MobiKEY for iOS is a new tool for a progressive enterprise technology deployment."

MobiKEY 4.2

In addition to expanding the operating systems that MobiKEY supports, Route1 will be releasing MobiKEY 4.2. This technology update will include the following feature or security enhancements:

-- Support for Windows 8 (Basic, Pro and Enterprise)
-- Remote printing when working on a Remote Asset running Mac OS X
-- Security updates
-- Updated MobiNET Agent for the Host Asset

MobiKEY 4.2 application software will work with both the MobiKEY Classic 2 (MC2) device and MobiKEY Fusion device.

If you are a current subscriber to the MobiKEY technology, this 4.2 software upgrade will be available to you at no extra cost.

Route1 intends to provide further communication to the marketplace once beta testing is complete, relevant apps are available in the Apple App Store, and the technologies are available for sale.
