Serent Capital, a leading San Francisco-based private equity firm that invests in growing profitable businesses, has invested in Optimal Blue, award-winning provider of the industry-leading, enterprise level, end-to-end product, pricing and secondary marketing automation platform. As a subsidiary of Optimal Blue, this investment also includes Denver-based Secondary Interactive, a leading provider of mortgage pipeline risk management, best execution and loan allocation services and technology.
For the past ten years, Optimal Blue has evolved from a product eligibility and pricing engine (PPE) into a comprehensive mortgage automation platform. Optimal Blue’s products touch the consumer, loan originator, lender, investor and capital markets. Winning numerous industry accolades, as well as awards, Optimal Blue has long been the leader in this space, in terms of market share, customer excellence and technology.
“Working with a capital partner has always been in our plans,” said Larry Huff, co-CEO of Optimal Blue. “We have a long-term view, and given our current growth trajectory and strong position in the market, this was the opportune time to partner with a firm that brings many additional resources to Optimal Blue. Serent has expertise in growing profitable businesses, experience in the technology sector and a hands-on approach to working with management. Serent brings a value proposition that perfectly complemented our vision for Optimal Blue. We have known the principals at Serent for several years and have had the luxury of getting to know each other during that time. Our business philosophies are perfectly aligned. We couldn’t be happier about our partnership and the advantages this brings to our company.”
Serent Capital is focusing on assisting Optimal Blue to further enhance the value they deliver to their customers and to extend their market reach through innovation, organic and inorganic growth, as well as broadening the range of product and services offered.
“We have been impressed with the enormous value that Optimal Blue delivers to its customers along with the company’s ability to continue to find innovative ways to serve its customers better,” said Kevin Frick, Partner of Serent Capital. “The founders Larry Huff and Ivan Darius have built a very strong team and culture and we are looking forward to working with them as partners.”
