ENDEAVOUR
Alex Busher, from Edmiston and Company’s Monaco offi ce, is delighted to announce his appointment as the Central Agent for the sale of ENDEAVOUR. At 130ft, this J Class designed by Charles E Nicholson was built by Camper & Nicholson for Sir Tommy Sopwith as a challenger for the America’s Cup. She was dominant on the British racing scene until 1938. Rebuilt in 1989 by Royal Huisman, and accommodating 8 guests, ENDEAVOUR is now for sale at US$14,900,000.
VITA
James Auld, also Monaco based, is pleased to announce his appointment as the Central Agent for the sale of VITA. Vita was originally built for an American banker by Fried Krupp Germaniawerft in 1931. Designed by Cox and Stevens she was part of the great clipper bow era that produced yachts such as Talitha G and Haida G. In 1934, the yacht was bought by Sir Tommy Sopwith as a tender to his J-Class challenger Endeavour. The yacht was later sold and converted into a naval ship, complete with guns, and undertook many clandestine operations including assisting emigrants to Israel. Although the yacht has been altered in many small ways, all of the changes are superfi cial. Vita would make a fascinating and highly attractive restoration project with the added bonus that many original drawings still exist and the main engines are in such good condition that the yacht could move under her own power. Edmiston has the expertise to assist in the full re-build of this superb classic and historical yacht. Krupp, 1931, 65m / 213’5”, guests - depending on layout, PRICE on application.
