Sencha, the leader in powering HTML5 development for desktop and mobile applications, today announced it has signed a new partnership agreement with Canon IT Solutions Inc., a member of the Canon IT group companies. With this agreement, Canon IT and Sencha are ideally positioned to meet the growing demand in the Japanese market for universal application development tools and frameworks. Sencha and Canon IT are poised to capture significant market share by bringing industry-leading HTML5 technology to Japan’s massive developer base.

Under its distribution partnership with Sencha, Canon IT is now the sole distributor of Sencha’s HTML5 application development frameworks and tools in Japan, and is also providing system integration and information technology services for Sencha products. In addition, Canon is providing localized technical support and documentation, and has exclusive rights to localize Sencha products into Japanese.

“The opportunity for Sencha and HTML5 development in Japan is huge and Canon IT is the ideal partner to help us capitalize on this enormous opportunity,” said Sencha CEO Michael Mullany. “Canon IT is a proven leader and innovator in the Japanese market and we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”

“Our customers are seeking cross-platform development technologies to reach the large and ever-expanding number of mobile and computing platforms in use today, and Sencha is the clear leader in this market,” said Kazuhori Asada, President and CEO of Canon IT Solutions. “Sencha’s tools and frameworks are the best for building applications that run on all of today’s mobile and desktop platforms.”

Canon IT will host a Sencha Event in Tokyo on March 14, 2013 to introduce Sencha products to Canon customers and kick off the relationship with Sencha. Information about the March 14 event is available on the Canon IT website.
