outlined below, at its annual Research and Development Open House held
today at its headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.

Electric Power Management System for Self-sustained Operation
in Communities

Enables self-sufficient power supply for more than one week
|
|

The company announced today that it has developed a prototype
electric power management system that combines an ideal mix of
storage batteries and photovoltaic power generation for
self-sustained operation in communities during extended blackouts.
The technology was achieved through the company’s Smart Grid and
Smart Community initiative.

silicon carbide (SiC) power module technologies incorporating

performance. The new technologies, which have been incorporated in a
prototype module, are expected to expand SiC applications to factory
automation equipment, elevators, escalators, photovoltaic systems,
wind-power generation systems and other industrial uses.
