Women’s Security Council Announces Second Annual Women of the Year Awards

The Women’s Security Council (WSC), a network of security professionals focused on promoting the advancement of women in the industry, will again recognize top female professionals in the physical security industry at the 2013 WSC Women of the Year awards.

Awards in a variety of categories will be based on demonstrated leadership in the security industry and employer companies. The WSC Founding Committee and select WSC members spearhead the review process, evaluating nominees' efforts to “give back” to the business community by mentoring or supporting other women in the security market.

WSC Women of the Year award recipients will be honored during ISC West 2013 in Las Vegas. Winners will be formally announced at WSC’s 2013 Awards Reception at Pinot Brasserie in the Venetian on Tuesday, April 9, from 6-8 p.m. Winners will also be profiled in a special April 2013 eWSC awards newsletter and announced in an official WSC press release to be distributed at ISC West.

This is the second year of the WSC Women of the Year awards. Last year, honorees came from companies such as Alarm Capital Alliance, Arecont Vision and ScanSource Security.

“The security industry includes many women who are demonstrated influencers and others who are emerging as the industry's future leaders,” said Rhianna Daniels, Managing Director, CompassPR and a WSC Founding Committee member. “The Women of the Year Awards spotlight the exceptional women in the physical security industry, which is central to our mission to provide networking and a strong support system.”

To nominate yourself or a colleague for a WSC Women of the Year Award, please complete the online nomination form at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/X7TKWGX. Anyone interested in attending the 2013 Awards Reception may RSVP to rhianna@wscouncil.com.

WSC offers a support system to enable women in the security industry to stay competitive in today’s dynamic marketplace. Supporting WSC are security industry leaders such as ISC Events/Reed Exhibitions, TYCO, Milestone Systems, MOBOTIX, Siemens Industry, Next Level Security Systems and CompassPR. The premier media sponsor is Security Dealer & Integrator magazine.
