Actifio Named “Product of the Year” by Storage Magazine

Actifio™, the radically simple copy data storage company, today announced that it has been recognized as the “Product of the Year” for Data Backup Hardware by Storage Magazine – SearchStorage.com. The award highlights the dramatic business value, technical elegance, and disruptive impact of Actifio’s platform, which was purpose-built to tame the unchecked copy data at the core of today’s enterprise storage explosion. The award comes on the heels of a year in which Actifio achieved record 700 percent growth, surpassing 200 customers in 16 countries around the world. The company recently introduced a new product family, pricing options, deployment tools, and software functionality to makes its copy data storage even easier to buy, approve, and use in 2013.

“We are frankly humbled to have taken the Gold in this year’s Product of the Year awards by Storage Magazine,” said Ash Ashutosh, founder and CEO of Actifio. “I’d like to thank our entire team for the years of hard work that went into this startling achievement, and – as always – our customers for making this journey possible for us all.”

Judges cited Actifio as offering “Virtual Data Pipeline technology automatically creates virtual point-in-time copies of production data, eliminating backup windows while making data instantly available to business applications. Only one copy is saved and updated with incremental changes.“ The piece also made note of our compelling service provider and development/test offering, highlighting “cloud environments, the system provides multi-tenancy, network optimization and advanced reporting capabilities. [Actifio] helps improve workflow so application development cycles can be accelerated with time-saving conveniences like self-service database cloning. The company claims it takes less than 15 minutes to clone a 5 TB database, thus lowering test and development storage costs.”

The Product of the Year Award spans six storage categories are presented by the editors of TechTarget’s Storage Media Group. Judges chose 52 finalists from more than 160 entries, and eventually selected 14 as 2012's best data storage products. All the enterprise storage products were judged based on innovation, performance, ease of integration into an environment, ease of use and manageability, functionality and value.
