I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

2013 Cathay Pacific International Chinese New Year Night Parade "happy@hongkong"
Hong Kong Tourism Board Provides Satellite Feed for Overseas Broadcasting

TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/09/13 -- Hong Kong is ready to celebrate the Year of the Snake in spectacular style with the 18th International Chinese New Year Night Parade in the evening of February 10. Organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), the annual spectacle, this year themed "happy@hongkong", will rave up the excitement with a procession of brilliant floats and spirited performers.

Hong Kong enjoys a reputation for its vibrant Chinese New Year celebrations and had been ranked by Forbes magazine as one of the world's 10 best events. Appearing in this year's parade are 36 participating units from 14 countries and regions, including 13 floats, 11 local performing groups, and 12 international troupes of entertainers - nine of which will perform in the parade for the very first time.

Spectators will be able to feast their eyes on a fascinating range of acts, such as folk dances by groups from Bolivia and Japan, precision roller skating from Estonia, performances by surrealistically costumed and propped artistes from Ireland and the UK, and stunts by Mainland China's Hangu Playing-cymbals Dragon-lion Artistic Troupe, which combines folk music, dance and martial arts and is inscribed on the list of national cultural heritage.

To facilitate coverage of the event, the HKTB has arranged satellite feeds (free to air) for use by overseas television broadcasters.
