I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Diana, A Celebration Exhibition Opens at West Edmonton Mall

EDMONTON, ALBERTA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/08/13 --

Editors Note: There are 2 photos associated with this Press Release

The award-winning exhibition Diana, A Celebration, opens Saturday, February 9 at West Edmonton Mall on Level Two, Phase I, and runs through June 9, 2013. The exhibition chronicles the life and work of one of the most remarkable women of her time - Diana, Princess of Wales.

On loan from Althorp Estate, the Spencer family's 500-year-old ancestral home in England, the exhibition contains 150 objects throughout nine galleries, ranging from Princess Diana's royal wedding gown and 28 of her designer dresses to family heirlooms, jewelry, personal mementos, items representing her abundant charity work, paintings and rare home movies and photos. Edmonton will be one of the exhibition's final showings before its world tour is scheduled to end in summer 2014.

Diana's charm, beauty and easy grace touched people worldwide during her short life. The stunning collection of her personal items invites visitors to share the milestones of her many roles: as a youngster, schoolgirl and athlete; as the shy kindergarten teacher who captured the heart of the prince and the public; as the young, ravishing royal bride; as the devoted mother, sister and daughter; and as the tireless charity advocate and spokeswoman.

Princess Diana was a beloved figure throughout the world, and more than one billion television viewers witnessed the 1981 Royal Wedding, which exhibition visitors can recall through her magnificent wedding ensemble complete with gown, 25-foot train, diamond tiara, veil, shoes, parasol and bridesmaid's dress. Home movies filmed by her father and scenes from her childhood, her engagement to Prince Charles, and the events leading to the royal wedding are illustrated through video clips, personal mementos, photos, displays and letters.

Tickets are available for purchase at all West Edmonton Mall Guest Services Centres and the exhibit box office. Open Admittance tickets can be used at any time the exhibit is open, while General Admittance tickets are valid Monday to Thursday. An Adult Open Admittance ticket costs $27.30; an Adult General Admittance ticket costs $23.10. Both prices include taxes. Group ticket rates are available by calling West Edmonton Mall Group Sales at 780-444-5308. Guests who purchase tickets at West Edmonton Mall will incur no additional purchasing fees.
