I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

TiqIQ Launches SellerDirect, a Free Online Ticket Selling Service

TiqIQ, the leading event ticket search engine, today announced TiqIQ SellerDirect™ (SellerDirect), a free ticket selling service that allows season ticket holders, brokers, and other sellers to list and promote their tickets. SellerDirect is particularly focused on helping drive last-minute transactions on TiqIQ.com, as well as across their publisher network. The TiqIQ Network includes more than 1,000 high-affinity sports, music, and entertainment publishers including SBNation, RiverAveBlues.com, Village Voice Media, and Creative Loafing.

Using SellerDirect, ticket holders can promote their tickets on buying pages, through social media, contextual advertising, targeted online banners, and in-stream editorial content. TiqIQ now reaches more than 6 million local fans through Twitter and Facebook. SellerDirect also leverages TiqIQ’s zone-based pricing data to help sellers price their tickets competitively and track trends in the market.

Seller Direct provides each seller with a personalized profile page that includes critical information pulled from their Facebook profile, including number of friends and professional networks. Additionally, each seller’s profile page displays the seller’s physical location to help buyer and seller determine the easiest way to exchange tickets.

“Ticket selling is the pinnacle of local commerce, however other than Craigslist there are no ticketing platforms that use location information,” said Jesse Lawrence, TiqIQ’s CEO. “We’re excited to combine the efficiency of internet-based buying with the convenience of local commerce while providing consumers with total transparency into who they’re buying from, what kind of deal they’re getting, and how they can best get the ticket in their hands.”

SellerDirect is available to local sellers nationally. TiqIQ will also be launching a Featured Seller program in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Los Angeles and Washington D.C. Featured Sellers currently include well known Brokers such as Barry’s Tickets, the Wanamaker Entertainment Group and SeatCrunch. Featured sellers will use Seller Direct to promote exclusive day-of-game deals.

With the addition of SellerDirect, TiqIQ further reinforces its mission to provide consumers with the most flexible set of buying options, including fixed-price sellers like TicketsNow’s official NBA Ticket Exchange, auction listings from eBay, and make-an-offer deals from ScoreBig and Flashseats.

“From day one we’ve been dedicated to delivering the most flexible set of tools to allow buyers and sellers to negotiate price and close a transaction,” said Lawrence. “SellerDirect is a key buying option that creates an unprecedented level of local market transparency.”
