Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

AVG Technologies Launches Free Competitive Antivirus Security Swap Promotion for AVG CloudCare™ to Channel Partners

AVG Technologies N.V. (NYSE: AVG), the provider of Internet and mobile security to 143 million active users, today launched a limited-period promotion for Channel partners. The special promotion offers AVG CloudCare™ Antivirus services—along with the added benefits of the AVG CloudCare platform—to SMB customers for the duration of their current existing contract with a competitive security product.

AVG CloudCare provides a free-of-charge, easy-to-use cloud-based administrative platform for small business resellers and MSPs. For resellers, it’s an easy way to manage and help protect their small business customers all from a single location from the cloud. With AVG CloudCare, Channel partners can see a complete overview of their customer’s networks, and can remotely deploy and manage AVG’s award-winning antivirus and content filtering via a single console at prices small businesses can easily afford. For SMBs, AVG CloudCare offers a pay-as-you-go program for only the services they choose to use.

“SMBs have nothing to lose from giving our award-winning antivirus services a trial, and a lot to gain from AVG CloudCare,” said Mike Foreman, GM of AVG SMB. “Our partners too have much to gain. Research shows our resellers are experiencing greater efficiency with AVG CloudCare*. This competitive AV swap promotion is designed to help them more easily and seamlessly introduce AVG CloudCare to new and existing SMB customers, by incentivizing them to make the switch for free.”

Since the launch of AVG CloudCare in the fall of 2012, more than 1,000 reseller partners have signed up and are managing tens of thousands of small business endpoints across the UK and North America.

Under the terms of the swap program, AVG is offering free AVG CloudCare services that match the duration of the current existing contract a reseller or SMB holds with a competitive business security product. For example, if a SMB or reseller has a contract with the duration of two years left on their competitive security product, AVG will offer a maximum of two years AV on AVG CloudCare. AVG will convert customers of business edition Antivirus licenses 1:1. Customers, who hold consumer edition antivirus licenses, must have a minimum of five seats or more.

AVG CloudCare’s remote application removal tool makes the swap program a more simplified process for partners to manage. Remote management functionality is key to AVG CloudCare. With AVG CloudCare, individual services can be remotely installed, activated and deactivated as needed. One-click deployment for installs and activations greatly reduces the need for costly on-site visits. With the free AVG Remote IT tool (available currently in Beta), resellers remotely access and trouble-shoot issues on their customers’ devices from anywhere.

Other features of AVG CloudCare include keyless licensing and easy-to-use preset policies that help remove certain administrative hassles in managing accounts; automatic alerts that signal customer needs and opportunities, aiming at generating increased sales; customizable reports that showcase AVG Channel partners’ added value and fully-functional, no obligation 30 day trial before purchase. This promotion is available through March 31, 2013.

AVG CloudCare is available via AVG resellers in North America, the UK, and Ireland. To find out more and become an AVG CloudCare partner, go to www.avg.com/cloudcare.
