Columbus Selects the Sigma Cloud ServiceBroker
Sigma's Latest Solution Enables Operator to Provision SaaS and IaaS Services to SMB Subscribers in the Caribbean

TORONTO -- (Marketwire) -- 01/30/13 -- Sigma Systems, the authority in provisioning converged broadband solutions, announced today that Columbus International Inc. (Columbus), leading regional cable and telecommunications provider to residential and business markets across 25 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, has selected the Sigma Cloud ServiceBroker® for the provisioning and management of SaaS and IaaS services targeted to small and medium business (SMB) customers currently serviced under its business brand, Columbus Business Solutions (CBS).

Launched globally on November 15, 2012, the Sigma Cloud ServiceBroker removes operational silos and reduces overall CapEx and OpEx by providing a solution for managing all on-network business services, including VoIP and high-speed broadband, as well as cloud-based XaaS services. The Cloud ServiceBroker enables communication service providers to extend value-added IaaS and SaaS services to SMB customers in a scalable, economic manner while shortening overall time to deployment.

"Our long-standing relationship with Sigma Systems for the provisioning and activation of our IP-based services has enabled us to rapidly rollout new valued added services to stay abreast of our customers' needs, while ensuring the highest level of order accuracy," said Andre Foster, chief information officer at Columbus. "With the extension of the Cloud ServiceBroker to our Sigma Service Management Platform, we can offer our customers a one-stop, seamless platform for their cloud services, providing a single, trusted source for their business-critical software."

Customers will initially have a choice of premium business software including online and remote backup. As Columbus is a current user of Sigma's award-winning Service Management Platform (SMP), a multi-service fulfillment solution that enables the quick and seamless delivery of IP service offerings, the Cloud ServiceBroker will integrate seamlessly with the provider's existing back-office, while speeding time-to-market for these new services.

"Columbus is a regional leader in delivering next-generation IP-based services," said Tim Spencer, President and COO of Sigma Systems. "With our new cloud service provisioning solution, Columbus can quickly deploy cloud-based services to subscribers, opening a new source of revenue in a competitive market."

Columbus International is among the first service providers in the world to initiate the integration of the Cloud ServiceBroker with their Sigma OSS platform. "Columbus is once again demonstrating its leadership by helping its business customers to embrace the latest communications technologies that will help them to improve their businesses," said Alejandro Couce, Caribbean and Latin America Head of Region at Sigma Systems.
