Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

R.K. INFRATEL Provides Optical Fiber for India's First Surveillance Project Covering Entire City of Surat

SURAT, India, January 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

Underground Optical Fiber Network Project Successfully Completed Within Four Months

R.K. INFRATEL LTD, a leading infrastructure service provider company for telecom/oil/gas/CATV/ISP in Gujarat, has successfully completed the project of providing the entire underground optical fiber cable (OFC) network for the 'Safe City Surat' Project.

The project was initiated by the Surat City Police Department and Surat Traffic Education Trust to enhance the safety and security of the citizens of Surat. It is also the first project in India that covers an entire city on a hi-tech CCTV network under the PPP Scheme.

Under the PPP Scheme, the underground OFC was provided free of cost for the first year and at a highly subsidised cost for the next four years by R. K. INFRATEL.

"The project was challenging as it was not easy for us to cover every corner of the city to connect the CCTV camera to the Central Command Control Centre. Our team worked extensively on this to execute the roll-out of the project within the stipulated time of 4 months. This project is an endeavour by us to take part in the noble cause of helping the people of Surat," said Rajendra Sheth, Chairman & MD, R. K. INFRATEL LTD.

The uniqueness of this network is its seamless and uninterrupted connectivity on end-to-end optical fiber with three cut protection. Considering the criticality of the project, the entire network has been created on underground fiber with the HDD method, which strengthens this network to deliver 99.99% uptime.

Being the sole provider of the project, R. K. INFRATEL has designed and rolled out the entire project without alliances with any network or telecom provider.
