Panasonic Announces Expansion into Personal Document Scanner Category

Panasonic, a provider of industry leading document management and imaging solutions, announced today the new KV-S1026C and KV-S1015C personal workgroup document scanners, ideal for small and medium businesses looking to achieve a paperless office or digital filing system. The new, high-performance scanners feature a modern, compact body, and offer extraordinary versatility, simple operation, and advanced features optimized for businesses looking to organize, sync and share documents or protect important physical records with digital archives.

“After a simple software update to integrate the new KV-S1015C scanner we were up and running,” said Kevin Smith, President/CEO, One Source Document Solutions, a Panasonic reseller and leading provider of Enterprise Document Management and Workflow Automation solutions to local government, financial services, health care providers and educational institutions. “We really like the scanner’s features, size and sturdiness and think our small and medium business customers will too."

“Many of our customers have a need for a high quality document scanner, but are limited by space constraints and budget,” said Bill Savino, Marketing Manager for business communication and document/imaging solutions at Panasonic System Communications Company of North America. “The Panasonic KV-S1015C and KV-S1026C scanners put a high performance, business-grade scanner within reach for small business and home office customers with document management needs.”

High Speed, Reliable Scanning

The KV-S1026C and KV-S1015C scanners require minimal desktop space, allowing them to conveniently fit into small spaces, such as the reception area of a pharmacy, doctor’s office or insurance agency. The scanners quickly convert a large number of documents into electronic data, allowing home office users and SMBs in a variety of vertical markets to increase record management efficiency. The KV-S1026C and KV-S1015C offer high-speed scanning of 30ppm/60ipm and 20ppm/40ipm1, respectively.

The KV-S1026C and KV-S1015C scanners are equipped with advanced enterprise-grade paper feed mechanisms that maximize usability. The Active Double-Feed Prevention Roller System, together with an Ultrasonic Double-Feed Detection sensor, detect and prevent double feeding, even with high volume documents or a mixed batch. Additionally, a right and left independent feed roller, combined with Straight Paper Path prevent document jams.

Easy to Use

In addition to speed and reliability, the KV-S1026C and KV-S1015C scanners are easy to use, featuring three buttons on the top panel, which allow the user to send scanned data easily and directly to pre-registered addresses on a PC or even in the cloud with a single touch. For smaller scanning jobs, touch free scanning is convenient, allowing users to skip the auto document feeder (ADF) and simply manually feed their documents.

The KV-S1015C comes bundled with software that allows SMBs to easily scan and store data in the cloud. Presto! PageManager 9 software streamlines document management and filing, featuring the ability to convert documents to searchable PDF files while providing access to cloud-based services. Presto! BizCard 6 software enables end users to organize business cards, with the ability to extract contact data and export it to major email clients. The KV-S1026C comes bundled with the Panasonic Image Capture Plus software suite, allowing users to easily scan and preview images before exporting them to searchable PDF, TIFF or JPEG documents. The Image Capture Plus software also offers blank page removal, Zone OCR and automatic cropping, among a many other convenient features.

Users can reduce time spent sorting documents, as both models scan plastic cards, including embossed cards, continuously through the ADF. Additionally, the end user can combine paper documents along with a hard ID card, such as a driver's license or insurance card, in a single batch through the ADF by using the mixed card batch guide.

Pricing and Availability

The KV-S1026C and KV-S1015C come with a 3-year advance exchange warranty and are available immediately through authorized resellers at an MSRP of $595 and $495, respectively.
