PITTSBURGH, Jan. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- CombineNet, Inc., the leading provider of best-in-class sourcing technology solutions for global supply chains, announced today that Brett Cornell has joined its executive team as Senior Vice President of Strategic Sourcing. Mr. Cornell, who spent more than 20 years at health care products conglomerate and Fortune 50 company Johnson & Johnson, most recently as Vice President and Category Leader of Global Packaging Procurement, will be responsible for helping to develop and influence CombineNet company direction, category strategies, and customer solutions.

Mr. Cornell's vast procurement and spend management expertise will be leveraged across multiple departments at CombineNet – spanning marketing, sales, account services, and product management – to improve solution differentiation, enhance the customer experience and deliver maximized value from CombineNet's offerings.

Throughout his career, Mr. Cornell has demonstrated strategy development leadership resulting in impressive corporate value creation and cost savings achievements. Prior to CombineNet, he spent over 20 years at Johnson & Johnson, most recently as Vice President and Category Leader of Packaging Procurement, where he provided strategic direction and leadership for global, corporate-wide packaging procurement teams, managing more than 20 packaging sub-categories and utilizing over 1,000 suppliers. In that role, he also developed collaborative relationships with business partners and suppliers toward improved growth, innovation, and cost-savings, as well as co-led J&J's Procurement Sustainability Initiative and championed the Procurement Leadership Development program.

In other capacities at J&J, Mr. Cornell held two positions with J&J Consumer Europe in Switzerland where he served as Director of Indirect Goods and Services and as Group Manager for Chemicals. Prior to those posts, he held several managerial positions at J&J subsidiary McNeil Consumer Healthcare.

He received his J&J Sustainability Certification in 2011 from the company's Supply Chain Academy. Mr. Cornell holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.
