Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Gordano Partners with NEC and Offers Valuable Cloud Solutions for Communication Service Providers (CSPs)

Email solution provider, Gordano Ltd (www.gordano.com) announces a partnership with NEC Corporation (www.nec.com). Backed by new integration capabilities for Gordano GMS messaging software, this partnership represents a substantial step towards leveraging the CSP cloud market.

Gordano understands that the messaging market is changing – businesses expect to reduce not only their overheads, but the complexity of their software usage. There is a growing trend for companies to outsource their needs and look for SaaS solutions.

Partnering with NEC has enabled an evolving engagement with cloud markets for Gordano - yet Gordano are not simply offering a cloud solution. They have created a comprehensive platform for white labelling and integration with systems already in place within the telecoms and carrier sectors.

The web interface has been made into a RESTful service – this means backend functionality has been exposed through APIs. This has permitted the implementation of a more standardised scripting language, making the software more customisable which allows for more bespoke deployments.

This represents a major advancement of the software’s capabilities; it is now more adaptable – the process of integrating into other environments is now much easier.

One such environment is the NEC Cloud Marketplace. This newly realised potential has led to Gordano partnering with NEC, a leader in the integration of IT and network technologies, to deliver its Cloud services – GMS Cloudline – to a much wider market.

“The door to a world of possibilities is now open. There are substantial opportunities available to us now that simply were not there in the past. The potential is there for us to expand and consolidate our position within the messaging environment”.

Ben Dobson, Technical Services Manager, Gordano Ltd.

The NEC Cloud Marketplace is a scalable aggregation platform consisting of a range of business oriented services to be sold to communication service providers (CSPs) and telecommunication operators globally. In turn, they get additional “Over the Top” revenues by offering these solutions to their customers easily, quickly and effectively from a single, integrated location. It also allows carriers to customise their marketplaces by populating it with third-party services.

That one of the solutions in this marketplace will be Gordano’s SaaS offering, GMS Cloudline, is just the beginning. The capacity for extensive integration via the ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) means that there will be further partnership prospects and opportunities for the company.

About Gordano Ltd

Gordano Ltd has been developing innovative messaging software since 1994. From the original email server running under Windows NT only, the software was completely re-written to provide a rich–client webmail interface, with seamlessly integrated anti-virus and comprehensive anti-spam, compatible for both Windows and Linux platforms.

Security is paramount in the development processes used by GMS and SSL is supported throughout the product. Full groupware capabilities were introduced allowing Microsoft Outlook integration providing a real alternative to Microsoft Exchange, while providing complete functional interoperability between Outlook and Gordano's fully featured webmail client.

Gordano is evolving its market engagement by addressing both the ongoing needs of the on-premise customer, and new requests for cloud solutions. Gordano is mindful that for a business-critical application such as email, changes to the delivery of messaging services need to be carefully considered. Gordano is offering a broad spectrum of solutions, providing facilitation as the cloud market grows.
