Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Documents.Me Launches New Mobile Solution That Puts All Your Documents in the Palm of Your Hand

Documents.Me (www.documents.me) today launched the first solution to aggregate business documents from private, public and email clouds. With this new native iPhone/iPad solution, users now have secure and instant access, either online or offline, to their business documents located across their computer, public document clouds (i.e. Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox) and email attachments. In addition to the ability to search, access and read documents on-the-go, Documents.Me allows users to take various actions with their files including light editing, saving locally to device, sharing and copying documents to various clouds. It also allows users to create custom project folders with documents from various clouds for better organization. Documents.Me is available for download free of charge in the Apple App store.

“Up until now, there have been many point solutions for accessing files: one to remotely access PC and Mac documents, one to access Email attachments and one to access each of the public cloud drives. This can make searching for relevant documents on-the-go difficult and time consuming,” said R. Paul Singh, Founder of Documents.Me. “Documents.Me solves that problem with a one-stop comprehensive platform that allows for easy, secure and smart access to your relevant business files no matter where they are located.”

Documents.Me increases productivity by allowing users to search for a file or browse all of their files or file content from public or private clouds right from their mobile device. It also offers offline access to users’ files and folders as well as downloaded files. Additionally, Documents.Me employs strict security and control measures to keep personal and company documents safe. Documents.Me works on WIFI, 3G and 4G networks.

Documents.Me has been in Beta testing since late 2012 after being introduced at DEMO. Since then, thousands of users who travel for business or attend offsite meetings and only prefer to carry their iPhone or iPad have found this app to be invaluable. Early adopters include professionals working in sales, marketing, consulting, legal and other services.

"As a start-up executive, I am often on the road and only have easy access to my mobile device. Before I discovered Documents.Me, it was difficult to keep track of my clients’ documents, as the files were stored in several different locations. Now, I can create a Project Folder for each client and drag and drop documents from my computer, Dropbox or Google Drive. Then when I go to meet them, everything is organized and shows up nicely.” Van Krueger, vice president of operations, Mobiplex.

“As a user of Microsoft Office on iMac, Google Docs, Dropbox and Gmail, we welcome new products like Documents.Me that make life easier in accessing documents from all of these places on the mobile device seamlessly in one common interface,” said Inder Monga, Chief Technologist, ESNet.
