Roger L. Simpson, MD, MBA, FACS Returns For Second Term As President Of Long Island Plastic Surgical Group
Senior Partner Also Led Long-Running Practice from 2002-2007

NEW YORK, Jan. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Roger L. Simpson, a partner at Garden City-based Long Island Plastic Surgical Group (LIPSG) since 1980, has resumed the presidency of the organization, the largest and longest-running plastic surgery practice in the country.   This is Dr. Simpson's second term as president of the practice, having first served between 2002 and 2007.  Dr. Kaveh Alizadeh recently finished out his term as president during the intervening years.

Dr. Simpson's specialties include hand surgery, peripheral nerve repair, and restoring animation to the paralyzed face.  Internationally recognized among his peers, Dr. Simpson has appeared at numerous symposia and workshops throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan.  Dr. Simpson's work has been published in textbooks and professional and academic journals on topics relating to plastic and reconstructive surgery, facial paralysis, burn reconstruction, and hand surgery.

In addition to his presidential duties at LIPSG, Dr. Simpson has been the Director of the Residency Training Program in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Nassau University Medical Center for over two decades, and also holds positions at NUMC, including Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Director of the Burn Center and Chief of Hand Surgery Service.

A Magna Cum Laude graduate from the University of Brussels, School of Medicine in 1974, Dr. Simpson also completed his General Surgery residency and Plastic Surgery residency at Nassau University Medical Center. He then received additional specialty training during a fellowship in Hand Surgery at the Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City in 1981, attaining the Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery.
