"Alert Logic's cloud-based delivery model demonstrates what's possible for cloud-based services and security," said the report.

Forrester Research evaluated 10 emerging MSSPs, each of which offer competent security technology skills, effective pricing, excellent customer service, experienced and trained staff, and flexibility. Each emerging MSSP was evaluated on 15 criteria grouped into three categories: current offerings, strategy and market presence.

"The Leaders all had the common characteristics of sound technology, strong execution, and good to great strategies," said the report. Alert Logic was one of the vendors deemed to be a Leader in part for "their ability to execute for their clients." Leaders "plan to continue investing their MSS offerings to make sure they remain competitive and advance in the marketplace."

"I am pleased Forrester Research is recognizing that emerging players deserve a hard look because they offer comprehensive, professionally delivered security services, and I'm proud that Alert Logic is named a leader in this Forrester Wave," said Gray Hall, president and CEO of Alert Logic. "We look forward to continuing to raise the bar for product innovation in cloud security through our upcoming new products, expanding partnerships and increasing customer adoption."
