Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

NeroKwik Mobile Photo Sharing App Previewed for iOS Devices at CES

Nero, the global multimedia software publisher, is previewing the new iOS app for its NeroKwik mobile photo sharing service at CES in Las Vegas this week. The latest version of the app now also connects photos stored on Dropbox and Facebook. NeroKwik for iOS and Android devices will be demonstrated for media and analysts at the ShowStoppers @ CES event tonight.

NeroKwik is a simple, smart and social way to see, share and get feedback on all your photos, wherever they are. The free NeroKwik Android app is available now on Google Play and the Amazon App Store. The iOS version will be released in January 2013.

“Our vision for NeroKwik is to make it easy to connect all your photos across devices and online services, without having to upload, sync or move the originals,” said Nero Chief Product Officer Martin Stein. “Launching our iOS client and integrating with Dropbox is an important step toward fulfilling that vision.”

Simple

NeroKwik connects all the photos users have spread across their mobile devices, PCs, and online social networks. Rather than upload, sync or move photos to a centralized cloud storage, NeroKwik simply connects mobile devices and services through the cloud.

Smart

NeroKwik is visual and touch-based. The NeroKwik Tapestry shows photos in a timeline, with the most important ones larger. This helps users quickly sift through potentially thousands of photos and find the ones they want without getting overwhelmed.

Social

NeroKwik automatically builds a Tapestry by ranking the social interaction of shared photos. Tapestries can be emailed, texted or posted to Facebook. Unlike static photo albums, Tapestries can continually evolve based on feedback and interaction from others. For example, when someone likes a photo in a shared Tapestry, NeroKwik increases the size of this photo relative to the others around it.
