Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

Astute Named One of "The 10 Coolest Startups of 2012" by CRN
Leading Provider of Application Acceleration Appliances for Virtual and Physical Environments Recognized as a "Groundbreaking" Startup

SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/07/13 -- Astute Networks™, Inc., the leading provider of application acceleration appliances, today announced that it has been named one of "The 10 Coolest Startups of 2012" by CRN Magazine. The ranking article, which appeared on January 2, 2013, rated the industry's top "groundbreaking" startups.

"In 2012, startups attacked the technology world, offering new ways to work more efficiently, cheaply and quickly in a world undergoing massive change due to the onset of cloud computing, big data, virtualization and analytics," writes CRN's Jack McCarthy. "Astute Networks is making waves with its Networked Flash and related technologies, which speed up cloud computing, server and desktop virtualization deployments and deliver optimized data stores using flash memory."

Astute has pioneered network-attached flash appliance technology to overcome the application performance limitations common in demanding virtual and physical environments. The company's ViSX Flash-based Application Acceleration appliances are purpose-built to deliver unprecedented random IOPS performance and IOPS per dollar value, helping to unleash the full potential of virtualized environments. The superior networked performance of ViSX is due to its patented DataPump Engine, which accelerates and completely offloads all network (TCP) and storage (iSCSI) protocol processing.

"It's a distinct honor to again be recognized as a top startup by the industry's leading channel publication, CRN," said Steve Kucker, vice president of sales, Astute Networks. "Resellers and end users have found the ability of ViSX to cost-effectively eliminate I/O performance bottlenecks in a simple to deploy and non-disruptive appliance to be a unique value proposition unmatched by any other flash-based supplier."
