Broadcom Powers New Comcast X1 Cloud-based TV Experience

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- 2013 CES International – Broadcom Corporation (NASDAQ: BRCM), a global innovation leader in semiconductor solutions for wired and wireless communications, today announced that Comcast has chosen its connected home set-top box (STB) technology for use in the RNG150N interactive STB now shipping to subscribers. Based on the Broadcom BCM7125 system-on-a-chip (SoC) and running Comcast Reference Design Kit (RDK) version 1.1, the Comcast RNG150N STB powers the latest in interactive HDTV programming, connectivity, whole-home media distribution and advanced 3D user interfaces.
