Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

Valdosta Hotel Uses Grand Opening to Collect Toys for Kids
Fairfield Inn & Suites Valdosta Works With Project Light to Bring Holiday Cheer to Children

VALDOSTA, GA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/04/13 -- The Fairfield Inn & Suites Valdosta brought on its new identity with a bang -- literally. To celebrate its grand opening as a Fairfield Inn & Suites property, this hotel near Moody Air Force Base hosted a murder mystery event to announce its debut and collect toys for kids in need.

The grand opening at this business hotel took place December 6, 2012, drawing nearly 100 guests for an evening of hors d'oeuvres, wine, beer and murder mystery fun. The game saw the death of the hotel's old brand (Wingate), and an inspector set guests off to collect clues through posters and video testimonies from potential suspects (including one Mr. Fairfield) scattered around the property and in Valdosta hotel rooms. In the end, the hammer was the weapon of choice and a symbol of this property's reinvention.

Guests of this Valdosta event were asked to bring toys to donate to Project Light, a local philanthropic organization. Toys were donated to 30 kids, who would otherwise be without gifts this holiday season. Attendees had the opportunity to win door prizes, which included a 43-inch HD flat-screen TV, a four-burner gas grill and passes to Wild Adventures Theme Park. Those who brought toys to donate had the chance to win additional prizes.

While the hotel has a new identity, you can expect to find the same modern amenities, friendly 24-hour staff and comfortable accommodations. Business and budget travelers appreciate complimentary amenities including property wide Wi-Fi, in-room high-speed Internet access and hot breakfast. Guestrooms offer plenty of space and conveniences including a microwave, refrigerator, 32-inch flat-screen HDTV, well-lit desk with ergonomic chair and plush bedding. Whether you're here working or taking a break, enjoy this hotel's fitness center and outdoor pool.
